Naturopaths use therapies designed to stimulate the body’s powers of recuperation and resistance to disease.

therapies act by increasing the body’s healing energy through:

HERBAL MEDICINE
Herbal medicine draws on traditional wisdom and understanding of the properties of plants as well as modern research which confirms the effectiveness & value of plant medicines.
They are the most widely used form of medicine in the world and can be useful in the treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
HOMOEOPATHY
Homoeopathy
is a system of medicine developed by German physician Samuel Hahnemann over
180 years ago. Hahnemann’s method of treatment
was based on his observations that a substance that produced certain symptoms
is a healthy person
could, when diluted many times, remove a similar set of symptoms in a disease
state.
Homoeopathy relies on matching the characteristic set of physical and emotional
symptoms of an individual with the set of symptoms associated with a remedy.
Remedies are made of various dilutions of substance and prescribing is based on the minimum dose necessary to produce the maximum effect.
NUTRITIONAL THERAPY
The average Australian diet is high in kilojoules but low in essential nutrients. Unbalanced diets can contribute to disease by reducing the capacity of the body to function efficiently.
Stress, pollution, lifestyle and genetic factors increase the body’s demand for nutrients and this demand my not be satisfied by many of today’s foods because of nutrient losses due to processing, storage and soil imbalances caused by the use of artificial fertiliser.
Dietary changes and nutritional supplements are used to increase mental and physical well-being and resistance to disease.
FLOWER ESSENCES
Flower essences were first used by a London physician, Dr, Edward Bach, during the 1930’s. Dr. Bach believed that an individuals emotional state was an important factor in disease and that restoring emotional balance would improve physical and mental health.
Each flower remedy has a characteristic emotional state that is matched to that of the individual.
Californian and Australian wildlife essences have since been added to the original Bach flower range.
CELLOIDS
Celloids were formulated in the 1930s by Maurice Blackmore, an Australian naturopath.
Celloids are colloidal mineral proportional produced by a special process that enhances their physiological function.
Each celloid has a particular set of deficiency indications that can be used to identify the required remedy. This system of treatment aims to restore mineral balance in the body and aid efficient metabolism.
IRIDOLOGY
Iridology originated in Europe last century and is used as an indicator of bodily functions. The iris of the eye is observed under magnification and analysed according to the colour and texture of the fibres.
Iridology is used in conjunction with other diagnostic tests to assess health status.
